Installations in Hazardous Areas

The course is divided into the following modules, which can be combined in order to meet the company's needs. The length of the course depends on the selected modules.

Module 1
Classification of Hazard Areas according to EN 60079-10, EN 60241-10 and IP 15

Module 2
ATEX directives 1999/92/EC and 94/9/EC categories and marking and compliance requirements

Protection methods according to EN 60079-14 and EN 61241-14

Protection of mechanical equipment
Protection of electrical and mechanical equipment in Dust atmosphere

Module 4
Installations in Hazardous Areas according to EN 60079-14 and EN 61241-14

Module 5
Inspection and maintenance of electrical installation in hazardous areas according to EN 60079-17

Functional safety

It is stated in the standards that persons, departments or organizations involved in safety lifecycle activities shall be competent to carry out activities for which they are accountable. RGE offers a two modules course structured according to the IEC 61511 standard.
