Functional Safety
The standards IEC 61508 and 61511 are widely recognised and used as basis for design, operation and maintenance of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS). One of RGE's core areas is functional safety and the use of the two standards. We mainly provide end user services based on the lifecycle approached laid down in the ICE standards.
Services provided:
•Development of Management System for design, operation and maintenance of SIS
•Risk analysis, hazard study and the definition of the required risk reductions.
•Facilitation of SIL assessment.
•Preparation of SRS (Safety Requirements Specification)
•Specification of the SIS.
•Support to commissioning and validation of safety systems.
•Support to the preparation of operating - and maintenance procedure
We can also perform audit of a company's SIS Management system and carry out a compliance check against the IEC 61508/IEC 61511 standards.
Independent verification according to IEC 61508/IEC 61511 is also a part of our competences.
